Minnesota's Manufactured Home Requirements
Effective
date for this code: June 26, 2000
What does it cover?
This chapter of the state building code governs several facets of the manufactured home industry. A Manufactured Home refers to a specific definition, but is essentially a home that is manufactured in a facility, built on a permanent chassis, and is transportable. Some of the many regulations are contained within this chapter while others are referenced in other documents. Subjects covered by this chapter include construction requirements, licensing of dealers and manufacturers, installation requirements, and a consumer complaint process. Compliance with the applicable construction standards is evidenced by a permanent seal and data plate that gets affixed to each building. Minnesota's Manufactured Home Code consists of
chapter 1350,
CFR 3280 Construction Standards,
CFR 3282 Manufactured Home Dealers and Procedural Requirements,
CFR 3285 Installation Standards
(effective 10/2008),
CFR 3288 Dispute Resolution and the
Federal Act.
